Your new place has an existing security system
Many times after you purchase a home, you’ll see that the old owners didn’t take a security system. All the alarms and cameras function well, are hung in the right places, and are ready to go. In this example, all you may have to do is to call and start a new service contract. A Vivint professional will still show up to ensure there are no integration problems, and they might offer options on upgrades. It's a preliminary appointment, and you can get your monitoring set up without paying for any new devices -- unless you add on.
The old owners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to your family for a nominal transfer cost to make the process easier. If the outgoing residents are downsizing to an apartment complex or smaller home, turning over the Vivint service might be a part of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your old equipment with you
You might need to bring along your old Vivint system with you to a new place when you move. It should be fairly easy to accomplish, as many components are plug and play. You can remove each device yourself or contact a professional expert to come and take care of your devices. Then our installers will put in the same features -- and any new things you need -- in your new home. Your home security contract will stay the same.
